Burlington
Swimming Pool

Project Overview
The Burlington swimming pool slide needed a fresh interior gelcoat and a new exterior coat of paint. The fiberglass was in good shape, so no repairs were needed and the scope itself was simple. The environment was not. Burlington, Colorado is known for high winds and weather that can change dramatically, so our team planned the entire job around the windows when it was safe to spray.

A simple scope in a difficult environment. On this job, the weather decided when we could spray.
High Winds and Fast Changing Weather
Burlington sits out on the plains of eastern Colorado, where strong winds are common and conditions can turn quickly. Spraying gelcoat or paint at the wrong moment means overspray, debris in the finish and coatings that do not cure the way they should.
Knowing When to Spray
One of the things we specialize in is knowing the windows and times you can work in a given area, and what you can pull off in that window. During tornado season in the Midwest, for example, there are moments when you absolutely do not want to spray a slide. Reading those conditions is part of the job.
Protecting Everything Ahead of Time
As you can see in the photos, we protected far more of the site than a typical job calls for. The pool, the deck and nearby structures were fully covered before any spraying started, so our crew was ready to go the moment a safe window opened.

Interior gelcoat. Exterior repaint. Timed around the weather. Here’s how we approached the project:
Weather planning: We tracked the wind and conditions throughout the job and scheduled every coat for the calm windows.
Full site protection: The pool basin, deck and nearby structures were covered well beyond the usual before any spraying began.
Premium interior gelcoat: The slide interior was refinished with a premium, high quality gelcoat for a smooth, high gloss riding surface.
Marine grade exterior coating: The exterior was repainted with a high solids, marine grade paint system built to stand up to the sun and wind.
No fiberglass repairs needed: The structure was sound, so the job focused entirely on bringing back the finish inside and out.

The Result
The Burlington slide now has a high gloss gelcoat interior and a fresh, durable exterior finish. Despite the wind and unpredictable weather, every coat went on in the right conditions.
The work itself was simple. Knowing when to do it, and protecting the site so we were ready when the weather allowed, is what made this job turn out right.

“The spraying was the easy part. The real work was watching the wind, protecting everything ahead of time and being ready the minute the weather gave us a window.”
